What are the security features of 5000 rupee note?

The Pakistani 5000 Rupee banknote has several security features, including:

  1. Watermark: The portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, is embossed as a watermark on the left side of the note.
  2. Security thread: A silver-coloured security thread is embedded in the note and is visible when held against the light. The thread appears as a continuous line and contains the text “State Bank of Pakistan” in Urdu.
  3. Optically Variable Ink: The numeral “5000” on the front of the note changes colour from green to blue when the note is tilted.
  4. Latent Image: A latent image of the portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is present on the right side of the note, which becomes visible when the note is tilted.
  5. Microprinting: The note contains micro printing of the denomination “5000” and the text “State Bank of Pakistan” in Urdu.
  6. Intaglio Printing: The portrait of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other design elements on the note are printed using intaglio printing, which gives them a raised texture and a distinctive feel.

Window Security Thread
Partially embedded window security thread into the paper runs from top to bottom at the obverse left of the note. The denomination numeral ‘5000’ can be seen in the thread. The thread appears as silver dashes at the front of the note. When the note is held against the transmitted light, the metallic thread appears as a line. The security thread appears as yellow and blue fluorescent bands when viewed under ultra-violet light.

Seven-digit serial number with a prefix appears at the obverse of the note at the right top and at the left bottom below the watermark. Both the numbers have been printed with magnetic ink.

The signature of the Governor, of the State Bank of Pakistan, Yaseen Anwar has been printed in the main colour of the note above the words ‘GOVERNOR STATE BANK OF PAKISTAN’.

A vignette of Faisal Mosque, Islamabad along with the name appears on the note.
