Dasun Shanaka | Winning captain | MoM: The tone was set by the environment within the squad. It helped us feel more confident. Our batting order ensured success. Particularly in spurts, Dilshan and Teekshana bowled superbly. We started off with Mendis and Pathum, and Rajapaksa and I finished it off. Thanks to the way our team is set up, Chamika bowls four overs for us, so I don’t have to bowl my entire allotted number of overs. Simply put, I must consider the needs of the team when making judgments. We had a stimulating discussion after the opening game. We are conscious of our potential in this competition. Despite their fierce attacks, we did well to keep the Indian batsmen to 173 runs.

Rohit Sharma | Losing captain: We simply ended up on the wrong side, it’s as simple as that. In our game, we had a chance to score in the first inning. The second half was not good for us. The men in the middle of the field can pick up shooting skills. All of these things are doable. We’ll discover what makes a team successful as a result of setbacks like this one. It was a fantastic effort to carry it to the final over given the bad start they had with the ball. The spinners bowled aggressively and took wickets in the middle overs, but Sri Lanka remained composed. We thought the larger perimeter spinners could be used successfully. But the plan didn’t work out. They batted with their right-handers for a very long period. I thought.

Kusal Mendis: very content. Pathum and I batted quite well. Best collaboration for us in this competition. In the last six months, I’ve practiced a lot in Second Life. I was told by the coaches to play normally. We attempt to hit the gaps even if Pathum and I aren’t big hitters. That is the best choice for us. In the center of the lineup, we have power hitters.
